With the school teaching facilities not expanding at the same rate as pupil demand, Glenthorne Primary School were facing an increasing uphill battle for space. As a result, Staffordshire County Council stepped in and agreed to fund the conversion of a redundant scrub land within the school grounds to become a new state of the art double classroom block.
R1 Construction tendered for this exciting project and were appointed to undertake the scheme in May 2018, utilising our full turn-key service inclusive of pre-construction services. We got to work straight away and the planning application was submitted within a few weeks of receiving the order, alongside a full supporting library of drawings.
Works on site began in early August 2018 and were completed in October 2018, taking just 8 weeks to complete from spade in the ground to key in the hand. Another project completed on time and more importantly on budget.
